This afternoon symposium
was organised in association with Gavin Hogg’s exhibition ‘Shadow Light’ that
is currently running at Limerick City Gallery. Speakers taking part were Dr.
Mathew Mather, Director of the course in Jungian Psychology at LIT Clonmel, Gavin Hogg discussing his work
and influences and myself, Nuala O'Sullivan.
The topic was ‘the
possibilities of painting as a language of contemporary expression’.
I made a presentation about my own work, and
my most recent project, on the subject of photography and painting. A new experience for me presenting in this
situation but the presentations gave rise to a really interesting discussion between the audience and presenters. It was great to see so many people there interested in painting as a medium and prepared to put their views forward.

the details, and images of Gavin’s exhibition are on the site too. The exhibition the runs until the 10th
July, 2015.
